I'sitting in the creative Zone awaiting the arrival of our stitchers. It's a nice day in San Francisco, clear & 50 degrees. Several of the ladies arrived yesterday & are out playing. Lisa & Marilyn are having tea. Gina & I settled for a begal sandwich at 10:30 as we were up so early to get here. Think I will unpack my stitching & start. I limited myself to 4 projects.
Stay tuned for more excitement!

ONE SOLUTION FOR THE VISION IMPAIRED
While attending the Patriotic Heart class, I was introduced to Susan Johnson. Susan rides in an electric wheelchair and has Macular Dystrophy. It is similar to Macular Degeneration in that the central vision is lost. Susan is able to needlepoint by using a Long Arm Acrobat. She said the most difficult adjustment was learning to look up while stitching. Susan carries a monitor with her. She says that the newer versions can be connected to a computer. Susan is a fabulous example of a courageous woman who "made lemonade".

MY PATRIOTIC HEART
Last weekend, I had the privilege of participating in the pilot class for Nancy Cucci's My Patriotic Heart. Nancy is going to teach this piece at the ANG Seminar in Philadelphia. Nancy's pieces are always fun and her stitch guides are excellent. Nancy welcomes novice stitchers in this class. This is a small enough piece that one might be able to finish is - someday.

SLIMLINE TABLE LAMP
My friend Lynis has used and raved about the Slimline Table Lamp for two years. Judith told me how much she liked hers. I ignored them both. I recently saw on a blog (sorry, I can't remember which one) that it could be attached to the tool holders on the K's frame & the System 4. I decided to try it. It arrived in a narrow five foot box. I wasn't impressed. Pamela & I were stitching last night so I decided to unpack it. Still not impressed. I finally got it set up and switched it on. We simultaneously exclaimed WOW! The light is incredible. Probably the best I've used. It's easy to bend & manipulate. It didn't shine in my eyes. It comes with a table clamp if you don't have one of the frames. A better idea would be to purchase a floor frame. The Slimline Table Lamp is now a new product for Needlepoint Tool Time. www.needlepointtooltime.com

DOG LEASH HOLDER BY LISA KRAUSE
A customer ordered Lisa Krause's Dog Leash Holder. It arrived today. I had dinner guests this evening so we opened the box. We were all blown away! It is so much better than the photo. The frame measures 16 x 13". The frame is lacquered and shinny. The dog on the canvas is a Sheltie (I may have that wrong as they are all dogs to me.) My company didn't think that the canvas needed to be stitched; it looks great as is. It was so much fun to see the finished product. Lisa may have to send all the frames to me first instead of sending them directly to the customer.

GUILD MEETING
Tuesday evening Pamela & I drove to San Bernadino for the ANG monthly chapter meeting. The program was an opportunity to sell your stash & Needlepoint Tool Time was invited to attend. It was a fun and successful evening. The Chapter had been ask to dispose of the stash of a recently deceased member. Huge is not a big enough word to describe this stash. Much of it was old and dated. The moral to this story is edit now!

NEEDLER'S NEST
| We did find that they were out of most of the red threads for the ANG STOM. They referred us to Be Stitched for Soy Luster which we were able to purchase. Be Stitched was also low on SOTM threads. They did have the white canvas with silver threads. There is a new slide show on the web site. Purchases are arriving daily. I think I have most of them on the web site. Tisha |
